Abdullahi Bawa, PhD is the Team Lead of the firm’s Legal and Corporate Governance Group. His academic qualifications include LL B.; B. L.; LL. M. and PhD in law and is currently the Principal Partner of Optimal Law Practice and Consultancy, Abuja. His work experiences include a stint as a Prosecution Officer at the Legal Department of the 82 Division of the Nigerian Army; an Associate Partner at Nasiha Chambers (A firm of Legal Practitioners), Suleja; and Principal Partners, Merit Chambers (A firm of Legal Practitioners), Suleja.

Between 1993 and 2002, he served as a lecturer at the University of Abuja between 1993 and 2003 before he became the transition and later elected the Executive Chairman of Tafa Local Government, Sabon Wuse, Niger State (2003 - 2006). In 2007, he was appointed the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs (2007 - 2011) after which he served as Niger State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice (2011 – 2015). He was elected and served as the Right Honourable Speaker, Niger State House of Assembly (2019 – 2023)

Dr Abdullahi Bawa has to his credit membership of professional associations and legal bodies that include Nigeria Bar Associations, International Bar Associations, National Association of Law Teachers, Judicial Service Commission, Council of Legal Education, Body of Benchers and Prerogative of Mercy Committee among others. He has published academic presentations and authored legal education books. He is widely travelled in the pursuit of academic improvements and official functions.
